Day 1 Saturday 2nd July: Johannesburg to Kgalagadi

We had a very early start, woke up at 00h30 packed the car and met the others at Beyers Naude offramp at 02h00 to set off on our adventure; five Toyota'sin convoy. After the compulsory stop in Kuraman for a Wimpy breakfast it was up to Twee Rivieren and our first sight of the beautiful red dunes of the Kalahari Sands. Then the fun started as we all went about setting up camp - tents, trailers, tables and chairs.... fire lit and fillet, red wine and banter followed. Early to bed, very cold out but great under wraps.
